created and curated from the outpouring of community sentiment, sign language - the art of protest exhibition opened on january 23 in the
coolart laneway. the community battle against the sekisui development proposal in yaroomba lead to the creation of over
140 signs, which used fonts, typography, words, colours and materials in original, creative, witty and clever ways. curated
from this great body of community public/private work, originally displayed in yards, on poles and fences around the coolum area was the 'selection', 35 works which were hung in the coolart laneway. wine was especially labeled for the
opening, a celebration of community - enjoying their action. graphics and PR were created to support the event.
