Social areas are important for all as they can create a positive mood or ambience. This seating project was initiated to explore a simple robust and aesthetic design which can enhance Coolum High’s built environment. This design enables students to construct the seats for their social areas, to build ownership as a step to address litter.
The design is modular, can fit many situations and set a consistent visual theme for all new seating. The placement of the first seat is on sloping concrete connecting to sloping grass and shows adaptability to a difficult area.
