Gozo - Malta  boatrace and bit of boat

In collaboration with Norbert Attard, these two sculptural works were created on Gozo for the 2004 Olympic Art event in Athens, Greece.  The bit of boat series explores the themes of furniture and boats for the 7 pieces, using fine joinery details on plywood. The functional form was derived from bin 17 .

The 7.2 metre long boatrace floats with a gentle grace, the negative space within providing a place for shadows to play. The form was developed during the project and inspired the lasercut boatrace bowl.

The entire exhibition is pack flat with assemby on some pieces requiring less than a minute with no tools.
