what are we sinking
What Are We Sinking is an ‘archipelago of shapes’, created from discarded and reclaimed materials. The sinks have been flipped to reveal the underbelly of their normal function - which
is to channel ‘stuff’ away to somewhere...
The dark timber water line is where the upturned sink finishes
and the new under begins. The black plug holes, now in the top, may be endlessly deep.
The actual and imagined shapes plus their
arrangement foment new possibilities, are they fleeing an encroaching tide or arriving in a new land? Are they a series of BBQs or just the big global BBQ?
These are some questions to consider from this proposition while you sit, pause and reflect, in context on, What Are We Sinking.
